Thank you Kylie!

It’s the 1st of the month and another Watercolour card challenge starts at the Happy Little Stampers blog. This month’s “Anything Goes” challenge with the option of layers, will also be the last for awhile, as Kylie, the organiser for this challenge, and many others, is taking a much deserved break.

So I decided to make a “Thank you” card for her, to thank her for being so patient and helpful with us the DT’s, and for allowing us & thousands of crafters, to express our creativity through her challenge blogs.

I used the Crafter’s Companion double sided layered dies to create this card in no time at all, as these dies cut both sides, so to create the 4 layers of each flower, I only had to pass the dies through my Gemini electric cutting machine only once! And since I used my watercolour scraps to make this card, I didn’t even have to spend much time painting the diecuts. When I needed to darken a spot, I brought out my Spectrum Noir Aqua brushes and touched up my diecuts. I found this method not only efficient but it allows me to recycle my practise or failed painting attempts, in a beautiful way, don’t you think?

Below you can see how each die cuts. To cut the 2 sides at the same time, you just add the die in-between 2 pieces of card stock.

I’m just in love with these dies and I’ll definitely be getting more! If you have them, I look forward to seeing how you use them. In any case, I look forward to seeing your interpretation of this “layered” theme in the link up here.

Thanks for stopping by and don’t forget to visit the blogs of the other DT’s who have created amazing watercolour cards just to inspire you! Have a great day doing something you love!

Hugs,

I’m also sharing this at:
