A new craft, a new team

MerryLittleChristmas-DesignTeam-badgeHello everyone! A Happy 2020 to everyone! I wish you loads of happiness, good health and lots of time and inspiration for your crafts! My new year’s resolution is to make more time to craft and so far I’m doing well with 2 projects posted on the first day of 2020!

Another resolution of mine is to actually send Christmas cards this year. I’m so embarrassed that I’m a cardmaker that doesn’t send any cards! So to remedy that, I decided to start making Christmas cards all through the year and to make sure I stick to my resolution, I joined the Merry Little Christmas challenge blog as a Design Team member! Thank you Lesliefor accepting me and making things happen so quickly. I literally accepted to be on her team 24h ago and here I am posting my first project for them!xmas coaster inks.jpgThe best thing about this challenge blog is that, not only are they always an “Anything Goes” challenge, but on top of that, they accept all crafty projects, not just paper crafts. So home decor, 3D projects, albums… are all welcome! So for my first post, I decided to share a Christmas resin coaster project I did during the holidays but never got time to share it. But now that the holiday madness is over and all the family and friends have left, I had the time to take some pics and edit a video I made of the process, which you can see at the end of my post.xmas coaster cuThis resin coaster was made using a German brand epoxy resin and hardener at a ratio of 100-50. I used Spectrum Noir alcohol inks, the reinkers that are sold for the Illustrator alcohol ink markers, but I got them only for the use of making resin coasters! They were left to dry for 24h before I unmolded them.

As promised, here is the making-of video of my coaster. Hope you enjoy it!

Well I hope you enjoyed my first post for the Merry Little Christmas Challenge and I look forward to seeing your awesome creations! Do stop by my new teammies blogs to see all the awesome Christmas projects they have created just for your inspiration.

Thanks for stopping by and have a great start to 2020, doing what you love!

  1. Congratulations on joining the MLCC design team, Gwendolyn! What a cool debut project. Your coaster is so beautiful that I would be scared to place anything on it in fear of damaging it. 😂 As you can tell, working with resin is completely outside my comfort zone.
Happy new year and good luck with your 2020 goal to send out Christmas cards.

  2. So very happy you’ve joined our team, Gwendolyn! This coaster is just gorgeous! Resin work is on my list of ‘to do’ crafts. Maybe this year? Thanks for the inspiration and for sharing your video – you make it look so easy, lol!
